Who are we?
Lifestyle Financial Planners Ltd, trading as Lifestyle Financial planners are located at Tone Street, Ballina, Co Mayo. Our staff are highly qualified in the field of Financial Planning Services and Paul Cawley, Managing Director is accredited with the highly acclaimed and internationally recognized CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation in addition to the nationally recognised Qualified Financial Advisor credentials. He also has a Masters Degree in Financial Services and Risk Management. Our principal business is the provision of fee-based Financial Planning & Advice, the provision of insurance and other financial products in relation to life & pensions/mortgages/savings & investments.
Purpose for processing your data
Lifestyle Financial Planners uses your customer data for the provision and administration of Financial Planning advice and sometimes financial product implementation alongside Anti Money Laundering Obligations
Examples of the actual or possible uses of your customer data are for the purposes of cash-flow modelling, lifestyle and lifetime planning strategies, processing insurance applications, processing claims, statistical analysis, underwriting purposes and the provision of advice. This gathering of information is consistent with our online and offline work practices.
Your customer data may also be used by Lifestyle Financial Planners to provide you with information about products and services from Insurance Companies and Financial Firms that we have Agencies with. In relation to Direct Marketing, we operate an opt-out policy, whereby you may opt-out at any time by writing to us at the address provided.
From time to time we may monitor what pages visitors to our website view in order to give us aggregate statistical information of our site and their preferences. No information is collected that can be used by us to identify individual users on the public part of the website.
Our Legal Basis:
By providing your customer data to Lifestyle Financial Planners, you give your consent to the collection, storage, processing and use of your Customer Data by us as described in this Data Protection & Privacy Statement. We are also obligated to comply with Anti Money Laundering Legislation by requesting proof of your identity & address. In any event, Lifestyle Financial Planners are committed to ensuring that the information we collect and use is appropriate for this purpose, and does not constitute an invasion of your privacy.
Who are we sharing your data with?
Your data may be shared with any of the Companies that we have agencies and agreements with, but most generally with those companies we use for the provision of Financial Planning advice or those that we will be brokering business for you or on your behalf. Each of these companies are obligated to have their own Privacy Policies in compliance with Data Protection Regulations and GDPR. Any third parties that we may share your data with are obliged to keep your details securely, and to use them only to fulfil the service they provide on your behalf. When they no longer need your data to fulfil this service, they are obligated to dispose of the details in line with Lifestyle Financial Planners procedures.
Before we would ever pass your sensitive personal data onto a third party, we will only do so once we have obtained your explicit consent, unless we are legally required to do so otherwise. We have requested evidence of GDPR Compliance from each of our third party Processors.
Data Subjects Rights:
Lifestyle Financial Planners facilitate you, our clients, rights in line with our data protection policy and the Subject Access Request Procedure1 This is available on request.
- Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
- Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to be forgotten – you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records. We will do so unless legally obligated to do otherwise.
- Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing, such as where you may contest the accuracy of your data that we hold.
- Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.
- Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
- Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.
- Right to judicial review: in the event that Lifestyle Financial Planners refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why.
All of the above requests will be forwarded on should there be a third party involved as we have indicated in the processing of your personal data.
Retention of your personal data
Data will not be held for longer than is necessary for the purpose(s) for which they were obtained. Lifestyle Financial Planners will process personal data in accordance with our Retention Schedule3. This Retention Schedule has been governed by our regulatory body (The DATA COMMISSIONER) and our internal governance.
In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by Lifestyle Financial Planners or how your complaint has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with The Data Commissioner and Lifestyle Financial Planners.
Failure to provide further information
If we are collecting your data for a contract and you cannot provide accurate data, the consequences of this could mean the contract cannot be completed or the details given are incorrectly recorded which may have negative future consequences for you.
Profiling – automatic decision making
From time to time there is automated decision making involved, for example, when establishing a customer’s attitude to investment risk (relates to pensions and investments) advisors have automated calculators which calculate the customers attitude to various levels of risk having answered a series of questions. Underwriters may also sometimes use automatic decision making. You have the right to have these decisions reviewed.
